Before configuring your email client for BroncoMail, you need to ensure your Gmail account is configured to enable IMAP and POP access.
In BroncoMail (Gmail), go to the Gear icon and choose Mail Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAPto ensure your account is enabled for POP and IMAP access. Be sure to use your full email address (username@u.boisestate.edu) when prompted for a username.
Configure Your Email Client
- For POP configuration instructions, see Google’s website. Be sure to use your full email address (username@u.boisestate.edu) when setting up the POP configuration, and clear the captcha for your Google Apps account – use your full email address for the username on the captcha screen).
- For IMAP configuration instructions, see Google’s website. Be sure to use your full email address (username@u.boisestate.edu) when setting up the IMAP configuration, and clear the captcha for your Google Apps account – use your full email address for the username on the captcha screen).
IMAP Info
- Username: Your username is your full email address -
(username@u.boisestate.edu) - Password: Enter your BroncoMail password
- SMTP (or Outgoing Mail Server): smtp.gmail.com
- IMAP Server Port: 993
- Incoming IMAP Server: imap.gmail.com
- Security: SSL
- Authentication: Password
