WEB PRESENCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Charge

This advisory committee shall provide leadership, vision and input for the information technologies with specific attention to University web systems. The Committee shall propose and advocate appropriate application of technologies, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines in support of the University’s mission. Areas of purview shall include web-based services located in the *.boisestate.edu domain (132.178*.*) and sites located outside that domain advertising themselves as University sites, either by use of the University logo, statements in the text or by keywords in the coding. More specifically this Committee shall have purview and make recommendations regarding but not limited to:

1. architecture and functionality;
2. server and client side tools;
3. content and practices;
4. access and security;
5. design and layout; and,
6. strategic planning.

Leadership

A Chair shall be elected from the membership at the last meeting of the academic year. The Chair shall develop agenda, call regularly scheduled meetings, keep meeting minutes and provide regular status reports to the Executive Director of the Office of Information Technology.

Membership

Committee membership should represent the Colleges and major administrative departments. Each member shall serve a one year term, but this term may be extended by the vote of the Committee. Membership shall not exceed three consecutive years. The University Web Administrator shall serve an indefinite term ex officio. Members shall represent their specific organizational units and the best interest of the University. Three consecutive absences shall result in notice and possible replacement.
