The State of Idaho has issued standards for new computer purchases and secured contracts with vendors that allow Boise State University to purchase selected computers at a discount. Purchasing these standard computers rather than custom configurations can represent a significant savings to your department.

How to Order
To order a standardized computer configuration, work with your department purchasing agent and your network administrator. If you perform the purchasing for your department, here’s how to place your order:
- Log in to Help Desk Self Service at http://support.boisestate.edu
- Click on “Open a New Ticket”, in the upper left corner
- Under “What is Your Request”, select “Order a Desktop Computer”
- Fill in the information requested, entering “State Standard Desktop” (or laptop) and the size of monitor you would like.
- Click “Submit”
These standard configurations allow you to get more computer for the money, as well as represent a significant cost savings for the University. Purchasing these standard configurations also helps the Office of Information Technology bring stability and consistency to your computing environment, as well as the campus IT environment as a whole.
