The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking technically-literate student-employees with very strong customer service skills. OIT Computer Lab Customer Support staff are responsible for assisting a variety of customers with use of lab technology.
Knowledge-base research, digital reporting of interactions with customers, supporting other staff, and on-going training are part of this position.
Classification for this position is Student IT Assistant 1, pay grade S2, and can work into Student IT Assistant 2, S3. Students must be taking 6 or more credits (five or more for grads), and work is scheduled around employee’s class schedule. Some work-study is available if desired and then the job reverts to regular pay.
The OIT computer labs, seven in five locations, are open to all Boise State students, and we currently have multiple positions available. Training can begin immediately for the fall semester.
Qualifications: Excellent communication and customer service skills are required, as well as knowledge of basic software and computer use. The ability to find answers through research and communication is needed for the variety of questions brought to the labs. This position may be called upon to move quickly between labs and lift heavy items such as a carton of paper.
