IT Policies & Procedures

Boise State University policies and procedures are developed in response to a perceived need by some member of the campus community. To establish the procedure and line of authority through which policy may be created, a set of guidelines have been laid out as follows:

"Administratively originated policies are proposed by a university administrator or administrative committee after which the proposal is then submitted to the President's Cabinet for approval. A copy of the approved policy is forwarded to the office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs for number assignment and distribution. Approved policies are posted on the University's Policy Manual web site. When appropriate, policies, regardless of origin are subject to state Board of Education approval." (BSU 1000-A, Policy Development)
