Test Availability Exceptions Date and Time Picker is not Displaying Properly

Description:

When trying to add a User or a group under Test Availability Exceptions, the Calendar Date and Time Picker is not showing properly.

Solution:

Use Firefox browser.

Discussion Board Description Column Is Narrow

Description:

With BB Learn 2016 theme applied, the description column for a discussion board is very narrow, and the Total Posts, Unread Posts, and Total Participants are unnecessarily wide and take up room that could potentially be used more effectively for the description.

Solution:

Work-around: Since the text is still visible for students, it is ok to continue to use the Discussion Board Description column.  If you post a link to the Discussion Board in your class, consider adding the Description Text to that link.  Another option is to add the Description Text as a first thread in the Discussion Forum.

Incorrect Coordinates on Hot Spot Questions.

Description:

Selecting X and Y Coordinates is inaccurate across several browsers and operating systems.  Regardless of what location the student picks, the question is marked incorrect.

LMS Middleware search term no results - Safari 9.1 and IE

Disabled User from Course Receives Email Notification from Subscribed Threads in Discussion Boards

Description:

Students that were originally enrolled in a Course and subscribed to the Discussion Thread and were then dropped from the Course are still receiving the
notification emails. Students that were previously enrolled and were disabled/dropped from the Course should not receive the notification emails.

Solution:

Work-around: Delete or filter messages from the course via email.  Projected fix at next upgrade.

 

Automatic playing of embedded audio

Description:

Embedded audio (mp3) automatically plays when using Google Chrome.

Solution:

The solution for this is to use an alternate browser such as FireFox or Internet Explorer.

OR

You can download and install the Google Chrome plugin Disable HTML5 Autoplay.

Cannot Remove Secondary Display

Description:

Grade center secondary display (columns with parenthesis in them) cannot be set back to “none” on calculated columns.

Solution:

There is no current fix for this issue; however, this column is not viewable by students at anytime.

VTBE:SPAN Tags Duplicate With Each Submission When Spell Check is Enabled

Description:

When the Spell Checker is enabled in the VTBE, content that is re-edited and submitted with any additions or changes to the text in the VTBE causes adding of extra span tags in the HTML code for the text for each pre-existing misspelled word from before the edit.

Solution:

Multiple file upload to content collection doesn't work (java based)

Description:

The ability to upload multiple files was broken with the discontinued Java support by most of the internet browsers.

Solutions:

The only workaround is to create a zip file with the files you wish to upload, then upload the zip file into the content collection. Blackboard will automatically unzip the file.

The Save Draft button does not work in the grading panel for Discussions, Blogs and Journals

Description:

The Save Draft button does not work in the grading panel for Discussions, Blogs and Journals. Even if text is inputted in “FEEDBACK TO LEARNER” and the user clicks the [Save Draft] button, the grading panel is collapsed and the information is lost.
