About

Boise State University’s Office of Information Technology is proud to present the Digital Ecosystems Conference (DigEco). DigEco brings industry, education, and government audiences together under a shared commitment to advancing the use of digital technology in teaching and learning. Inspired by the efforts of the Governor’s Higher Education Task Force, DigEco 2017 surveys the landscape of public education in Idaho and explores how digital tools and pedagogies may promote long-term, positive change for our state.

Theme

This year’s theme considers how matters of educational access, affordability, and quality become increasingly complex as face-to-face classes transition online, required course materials go digital, curriculum relies more heavily on high-speed internet connections, and so on. As a result, this year’s program features presentations, roundtables, and demonstrations that seek solutions to some of the most challenging and novel questions facing education today:

  • What is the learning experience like for learners who use assistive technology?
  • How might instructors and institutions reduce costs for learners while ensuring quality?
  • How might opportunities and credentialing better complement learner interests and career goals?
  • How might digital resources be used to make educational content available for new, broader audiences?
  • What are open educational resources and why are they worth exploring?
  • How might public institutions benefit from working together across all levels of education?
  • And more!

Audience

Professional educators, instructional designers, learning technologists, IT professionals, and education leaders may benefit most from attending DigEco, but the event is open to anyone who is interested in the affordances that digital technologies offer to the modern classroom and beyond.

This free, one-day event includes lunch for those who register by October 29. Reserve your spot by registering today!
