Add Content and Artifacts to a Portfolio

Summary


This document demonstrates how to add content and artifacts to to a Blackboard Portfolio.

Adding Content to Sections

Content is added to the Section area of Blackboard Portfolio.

  • To add content, click on the Section to edit or select the small pencil icon in the right-hand corner of the Section to edit. (Click on Image for Larger View)

In the content area, a rich text editor will pop up.  From here the user can enter text, use text editing options, attach documents, embed images, create hyperlinks, add media, etc.

Adding an Artifact

Artifacts (assignments/papers/etc. that have already been added to Blackboard) can also be added to any Section of Blackboard Portfolio.

  • Select the Add Artifact link on the Section (Click on Image for Larger View)

  • A new window will pop-up and show the Artifacts that are currently available in the course site.   To add an Artifact from this list, check the box associated with the Artifact and select Submit.

  • To Add Personal Artifact like a document off of the user’s computer or an Artifact that the user wants to type directly into Blackboard, select Add Personal Artifact(Click on Image for Larger View)

  • In the Add Personal Artifact Page, the user can:
    • Use the available Title, Description, and Content boxes to create an Artifact
      • Note: Title is required for all Artifacts
    • Select Browse My Computer  to select a file off own computer
      • Be aware: Browser Content Collection is not utilized at Boise State University
  • Select Submit, the Add Personal Artifact screen will return.
  • Select Submit once more.
  • The Artifact will show as attached in the Section screen.

  • To Add from Course like an assignment/paper/etc. that has been submitted to a different course site on Blackboard, select Add From Course(Click on Image for Larger View)

  • The next screen will display a list of course sites the user is currently enrolled in on Blackboard.  Select the radio button for the course that contains the Artifact.
  • Select the check box for the Artifact.
  • Select Submit.

  • The Artifact will show as attached in the Section screen.
