Direct Submit a File to Safe Assign

Summary


In this document we will show you how to directly submit a file to safe assign.

Direct Submit

Direct submit is a useful tool for faculty to use. It will allow you to take any assignment and have students direct submit it to safe assign so it can be evaluated for plagiarism.

  • Go to your Blackboard course
  • In the Course Management menu click course tools
  • Click SafeAssign

  • Click DirectSubmit

  • Click Choose File
  • Locate the file on your computer and click on it and click open
  • Click Submit (click on image below to see enlarged view)

  • Safe Assign usually only takes a few minutes to an hour to process a submission.  During peak times such as Finals Week, submissions could take significantly longer.  Please check the Blackboard Services Status for current status information.

To view results:

  • Access your Bb course site you direct submitted the file in
  • In the Course Management menu click Course Tools
  • Click SafeAssign

  • Click DirectSubmit

  • Click SA report in the files column (click on image below to see enlarged view)

  • This is what the Safe Assign Report Looks like
    • The text of the paper will display and be highlighted if there are any issues.  The reason for the highlight will be listed on the right-hand menu
    • There is also a display listing what percentage of the paper shows as matching other papers or articles on the internet
