Extra Credit points

Summary


This document describes how to add extra credit points or scores to your course grade center.

Creating an Extra Credit Grade Center Column

  • Click Grade Center in your course control panel menu
  • Click Full Grade Center
  • Click Create Column
  • Enter your required information
    • Note: Primary display controls the format for entering grades
    • Note: Points Possible MUST be set a 0. This will not increase the students calculated total points but will increase the students cumulative class points
  • Click Submit

If using weighted grade calculated column to determine students grade

  • Add the students extra credit points into an existing grade center assessment column
  • Click Grade Center in your course control panel menu
  • Click Full Grade Center
  • Locate the student and assessment you wish to add the extra credit points to
  • Hover over the cell and select the drop-down menu (downward pointing chevron)
  • Select View Grade Details
  • Select Manual Override link just below View Attempts button
  • note the current grade at the top of the page
  • Enter in the current grade + extra credit points in the Override Grade text box
  • In the Feedback to Learner box text box below the entered points, Please add a note for the student

If using total points calculated column to determine students grade

  • Click Grade Center in your course control panel menu
  • Click Full Grade Center
  • Click Create Column
  • Enter your required information
    • Note: Primary display controls the format for entering grades
    • Note: Points Possible MUST be set a 0. This will not increase the students calculated total points but will increase the students cumulative class points
    • Note: This column WILL NOT be included in any weighted or average grade calculations
  • Click Submit
