BitLocker Drive Encryption is a service offered for Microsoft Windows operating systems. It allows users to encrypt data on their hard drives. If you use BitLocker, your data will be secure, even if your computer is misplaced.
When BitLocker is turned on, the data on your computer’s hard drive can not be read without a secret BitLocker password, even if the hard drive is placed into a different computer.
BitLocker keeps your data safe, even if your computer is lost, stolen or incorrectly decommissioned.
If you would like to encrypt your laptop computer, please contact the Help Desk at 208-426-4357, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. They will determine if your computer is eligible for BitLocker Drive Encryption.
Many departments are already required to use BitLocker for laptop computers.
For questions about using BitLocker, contact the Help Desk at 208-426-4357, or email email@example.com.
